The first security measure that every MTN client needs to take after buying a new simcard, is to change the default Me2U code of that Simcard.
After buying a new MTN simcard, the default Me2u code of that simcard will be 0000. That default 4 digit pin number is very easy to guess. Infact most MTN clients already know that pin number. So if you don,t change that default pin number, it will be very easy for anybody to steal your available airtime credit.
As we move from place to place to carry out our various economic activities, we meet so many people (more evil than good) and also give our phones to many people. Some will beg your phone to take a picture but their ulterior motive is to steal your available airtime credit. If you haven,t changed your default Me2U code, it will be very easy for anybody to steal all your available airtime credit.
To perfectly secure your airtime credit, you will need to change the default pin number (0000) to a 4 digit number that is hard for anybody to guess but easy for you to remember. For example the pin code: 1456 is hard to guess than the default Me2U code:0000.
How To Change Your Me2U code.
Its very easy to change your Me2U code…
To change your default Me2U code, simply Dial *123*3*4*2#. After dialing that code, enter your old and your new 4 digit pin number. Your old pin number is the default 0000 pin number while your new pin number is your own secret 4 digit pin number. Like i told you before, enter a new pin number that is hard for anybody to guess but easy for you to remember. Most MTN clients use the first 4 digit of their phone number as their secret Me2U code. You can also do that too but don,t tell even your bf or gf you did that.
